Pat_B, I giggle hysterically at your optimism.
No one, and like Biden, I repeat, no one will change a darned thing. In the old days, people had the courtesy to STOP everything for a moment to wait and actually SEE what was going on as the world crashed around them, stop to see what was going to happen, but my daughter happily bought an Escalade this past week and other young people that I have been talking to are all going around with business as usual.
Silly, unrealistic, optimistic, oh so wrong, you...........
but, we can keep hope alive, I suppose.

I think it may have changed a bit since 1933 -- at least the technology
has done so. But the greed of bankers and fear on the part of depositors has not changed. They can just move faster, they're slicker than ever and the fine print is more confusing. It's a bitter pill to swallow, but maybe this kick in the head will bring us all to our senses about credit and overextending ourselves. The idea of borrowing money at 22% interest -- using credit cards -- to buy things we don't really need is just crazy. No wonder we hit the wall.
