Comments on What Reform? Emergency Bailout Full of Pork, Authorizes IRS Stings

The bailout fallout

will be just downright ugly.

It doesn't matter who did or did not vote for this financial monstrosity, it doesn't matter that Pres. Bush signed it into law instead of vetoing it like he should have. Its a done deal.

It really doesn't matter who gets into office either. Being Realistic none of the presidential contenders can do what they promise out of both side of their mouths. The President is not a dictator and if the House and Senate don't back him, then nothing happens.

In about 18 months reality is going to hit, our financial system will crash. What we have witnessed over the last three weeks is just a foretaste, a teaser if you will of what is to come. For now it is business as usual, there will be a "few" scapegoats thrown into the arena for the press to play with.

The actual problems and their root causes will not be dealt with. The problem is too broad across all the markets and too deep financially to be dealt with pleasantly. Gangrene does not heal itself. Instead of losing a pound of corrupted flesh we, the american taxpayers are about to lose a limb.

We have about 18 months, use them wisely.

You cant' blame this one on just the democrats
Both sides played a fairly equal part if getting this thing made and passed.  Like it or not, it is a very bipartisan piece of legislation.  To try and paint this whole thing as being the democrats doing is just silly and wrong.  The Republicans were equally involved in it all.  Bush was for it, McCain was for it and Palin's state of Alaska got some of that earmark money through their Republcian representive.

Congress as a whole has failed us, both Republicans and Democrats.

Of course if we elected McCain to office, then this bill will be our downfall as he follow the Bush doctrine and creates even more debt to add to this al, doing nothing to help build up our economy and everything to reward big businesses for screwing over the working class.  If we go with Obama, his plans very much seem to follow an idea of getting this country out of debt and on the right track.
