Sam
I love it when we journey through life and have moments when we realize...
the damage had been slight, hardly more than cosmetic. When we're mired in indecision or transition sometimes it's hard to know this but later, when we look back, its usually the case.

A walk like this must have been invigorating. Even reflection can be. Your poetry always stirs me.

Something about footprints in the cold makes me think of decisive thinking. Cold calculations and cool reasoning.A determination to destination.

You always get me thinking! Good job sam.

What an astounding poet you are, Sam!
I can only imagine walking in the snow barefoot if I was fleeing from danger, that the snow would record the degree of violence by the amount of blood left in the footprints.

Great read!

I imagined myself walking in the snow. I felt the cold. I did the thinking and thinking.

Your poem has much universal appeal. I enjoyed it!

You just broke out a buried memory of mine....I may have to explore it soon. But for now, beautiful imagery....I've never gone barefoot in the snow, only in socks...but it was magical...

You have given voice to something I do myself fairly often! People are forever tsk-tsking, thinking I am nuts, and they may of course be right...

And thanks for the continuing promo - the readership for that blog is dwindling rapidly...

Right - sometimes what we feel is so dire, is, in hindsight, not so awful. Wonderful imagery! Mal

I could imagine the stillness of a night, walking in the snow in the moonlight and looking behind at the footprints, going nowhere in particular, but sill going ahead...Very good, sam.
