The tentacles are the best parts of octopuses (octopussies??? LOL)! And my intake of Hamburger is very, very limited, usually confined to the ones I make myself...
I don't mind 'strange' stuff at all, but definitely draw the line at dog, which apparently is available in our Chinese community, if you know the right people. But I don't want to know them...

I love food! I loved this post. I think it is important to be comfortable, eat the foods you like and with those you want to fellowship. It is about the joy not the secrets! I have eaten in a few places that I probably would not have eaten it had I known what it was.

My son finally talked me into trying Sushi a couple years back.
I had been totally against putting raw fish in my mouth, but decided it was time to stop being a Sushi virgin. So I tried a California roll, which is smoked salmon and a bit of cucumber and cream cheese rolled in sticky rice and held together with seaweed. You dip it in a bit of green Wasabe that looks like avocado paste but is fiery hot. Delicious! Amazing! This is followed up by a thin slice of delicate pickled ginger, "to cleanse the palate." And then repeat until your Sushi has become a memory. We were in a Japanese restaurant off the waterfront in Seattle, and it goes down in memory as a lovely occasion. But generally, I like potatoes in all their various forms, plain fresh food served at the right temperature. Most "gourmet" restaurants seem highly overpriced to me.

I enjoy most all kinds of food, Bel. I do not care for asparagus though or crab cakes. I am definitely not a picky eater, really.
