Yeah, old machines learn bad tricks benzinha. Lobotomy can really zip it up

My machine which fell to a virus is a Dimension 5200. You might check out Dell's refurbished business computers, but keep good records in case they screw something up. Not to put you off, but m y first encounter with them was perfect, the second was sticky (they mixed up my order with two others).

Non-VISTA stuff is becoming very cheap, is cheap already sometimes.

Oh, I have an old Dell Dimension 3000.

It had a 512mb RAM memory until I added the two gigs last week. That didn't change the CPU usage and I was told that after this much time, reformatting is in order. Sigh.

I bought a Circuit City (being bought up by Blockbuster as I write now) on sale Hitachi 320 gig external hard drive with turbo usb something or other to speed up transfers. Got it on sale for $79.

majroj, went out and bought an external hard drive, thinking it easiest.

Have been at it all day, trying to figure out how to use the darned thing. I am so slow....gotta go figure this out now. I did a back up so that I can delete stuff from the computer, however.

Anyway, life  goes on. I really do need a terabyte internal drive..........however..........

May just reformat the darned thing, the computer and original drive that is with the other disconnected from it and see if life gets better. Darn.

What are you using now? (Make and capacity)
Ask about a "Mad Dog" hardrive vault, maybe one of those will support a separate hard drive? Plugs into the wall and into the computer.
