Oops, sorry, I guess idiot really does refer to me.  I see you called it autistic savant.  Ah well.  Yes, anyway, yet another blonde moment. Perhaps I should go practice cello!!

Ha! TAPS, it is a huge challenge but one I love!!!

Not sure about the idiot savant.  There are certainly some days where I DO feel like an idiot.  But the savant part?  Probably not in the cards for me.

Regarding HIV pt -- I cannot imagine being told that i'm HIV pos.  Just floors me.  Thanks for stopping by!

JanesOpinion, You make playing the cello sound like an impossibility except for perhaps an autistic savant with that area of brilliance.     The diagnosis of HIV always comes with such a terrible shock to everyone.  I'm sure it ruined your day.

Re: Goodness, JanesO......

Hi Corbin,

I cannot imagine this pt or relatives are on Blogit, but I'm limiting details just in case.  I will say the pt is under 18.  We do have a good HIV clinic within 30 miles, but money is tight so paying for gas to and from will be a challenge although perhaps they'll receive assistance with that too.

It does put things in perspective, eh?  I moan about stuff, even politics, yet it's nothing compared to what this person is going through.

Thanks for your comments!

Goodness, JanesO......
My pitiful little bad day pails to what you encountered with yours.....How old as this patient?  At least the new drugs can help he/she maintain some semblance of normalcy.......will they have unfettered access???

Re: Jane
well said, Nautikos, and thanks.  It was a good day, but with sadness toward the end.  I've thought a lot about my pt this weekend.

Jane
You did have a good day! Even in the end, though it was sad, it gave you an opportunity to be of help in the days ahead, to help this young patient deal with the illness...

What a day! All the giving and taking lessons was a high to drop so low. I am really sorry about your patient. I am thankful that your group were truly sorry rather than 'of another bad day for this one'. It was a good shot inside the doctor's office and the passion therein not visible to the patient. Good work.

Make each day count.  Live each day to the fullest.  None of us knows what tomorrow may bring.  Amen! I am sorry about your patient! I saw you note at the meditations and I am happy they offer comfort! sam
