For the outsiders  it looks like USA does NOT like intellectuals too much and that people there vote with their emotions instead of using their head....Just a thought!

sorry to say this but teachers in this day and age are not what they use to be, they cared more when my kids were growing up in the 70'sm now like most things its all about the weekly pay check

I have seen those as well...
The comments on just about anything on You Tube are a sad commentary on the language disabilities saddling our youth.

My Mom always told me that when a person in an argument resorted to name calling he had lost said argument.  Name calling is a product of frustration and usually one gets frustrated when one's point is not strong enough.  Perhaps is not so much the lack of education as the lack of ground to stand on.  Its sad what we witness in the press and internet, but believe me its far better what we have in this country than what other countries go through in times of election.  Great post

EX
It does seem there are a number of moderately educated people out there posting their opinions in a crass and clumsy manner.  I sometimes just shake my head at some of the trash I read…  but what’s scary is that these people actually think they’re posting an informative and well-written observation or viewpoint.

I agree, a little seasoning never hurt anything. Great thought on education!  sam

Education is of course the hope of a countries future. Along with health
care it should be avaliable to everyone. I  also believe that certain words and phrases that were frowned upon in film and stage should again be frowned upon. Some times I am just sickened. It isn't art or clever it's just crude.

Mama used to say education was the key to a successful life.
At times, she was brilliant!  If I ever make a million, half of it will become an endowment for scholarships at our local university -- and some of it will go to pay off my kids' college loans. Amazing how those things hang on. :)
