Except for his belief in a democratic republic, free-market economy, and general rejection of Marxism, perhaps.  I don't recall Obama ever once advocating armed takeover of any country, though.  His talk about the working class being better off, and making the country better and all that may sound a bit like Castro.  Or Reagan.  Or Clinton.  Or about 90% of politicians throughout history.  Sorry, but I'm not seeing the whole Castro comparison getting any traction.  A little help, maybe?

Re: Re: Good post
No, but he does have a lot in common with Fidel Castro.

Re: Good post
I'm sorry, but that's just silly.  Obama has nothing in common with Michael Corleone.

Good post
You know Obama is a lot like a man who fooled a lot of people about 50 or so years ago in Cuba!

Complications
Of course, there are many people who dislike Obama because he is a liberal and a Democrat.  I disagree with those who call him elitist, and he certainly isn't sexist, but about 40% of people won't like him simply due to party affiliation and position on issues.  But there is a substantial minority that would be supporting a white male candidate with Obama's positions that are not behind Obama.  Race is more of a factor than most people would like to admit.  We want to believe our country is better than that.  But we aren't.

There are also people who won't vote for a woman to high office.  Sad, but true.  And then there are all those Right Wing blowhards who, before the advent of Sarah Palin, swore they would never support a candidate who was a mother of small children.  It was a matter of values and principles.  And now they will, because the alternative is somehow worse.  So we know what their principles are worth, don't we?
