Re: merkie
Well when things get really tough try to remember that the plants with the most compost are usually the ones which grow best

Distancing does help too... I am fond of distracting myself until I am ready to put the whole drama into verse and then analyse it. I learn better from my own poetry... curious isn't it

Re: A good poem ...
Thanks genio, yes there is always a step before, and no matter what your beliefs you have to admit that things have a habit of working out.

Re: Meaningful and wise my friend
Very true... often because there is something that we need to learn... even if it is to stop doing that! I am glad you enjoyed this one

"Everything that happens has an aim,
Within each hard moment is a thing that we must know,
Each heart break, depression and shame
Is the compost that our spirit needs to grow." Some lives have more compost than others but you are so right in saying that is how we grow. When things are rough I imagine them as a soap opera and somehow this creates a different perspective and helps to cope . Usually makes the ridiculos seem sublime!

A good poem ...
... yes, every step has a step before, a causal connection exists as a matter of course ... and I believe it's vital to keep the records straight (from my point of view) and look at the right sorce, which I find as the nature of existence on the soul level -
