TAPS. ..I'm with Naut on this election thingy..at least over here in Canada
we get it over quickly...two or three months of campaigning, as dirty and messy as it is, and then its over..

.we'll likley end up with another minority gov't anyways and have another election in a couple years...

MiaElla, not only can I not stop watching it, I can't stop talking about it, and I can't stop posting about it. Help! I'd rather be writing about the birds and the flowers and the changing of the seasons.

You're so right. Telling me to calm down is like pouring gas on a fire.
Whoosh! Did you hear the latest fundraising totals? If I remember right, Palin's spark has brought in lots of dollars to the McCain campaign, now about $48 million. And Obama has world record contributions of about $64 million. I hate to think of all that money going for attack ads when it could go to help medical research or flood relief or other good causes.

Re: As it should
Absolutely, justi. The shusher leaves the impression that the talker is not worth listening to.

As it should
apparently the person has not been heard, they have not been validated so they get louder, more intense and the sush is a greater push to deny them their voice.

oh goodness
I have to say, I have come to the point I can't wait for this election to be over. At this point, I don't care who wins or loses just as long as the nasty debates go away.
As for the calm down part...yeah that never worked with me!

Taps
I think I must have seen the same show and the gentleman who was asked to "clam down" was actually quite calm until he heard those words. Then the discussion became a shouting match and you could hardly glean what anyone's point was. I reached for the clicker and looked for something
calmer to watch.....

Nautikos, Slate Magazine calls your Canadian election mean, chaotic. messy, wierd, awkward, and a political basket case (
http://spacing.ca/wire/2008/09/13/slate-magazine-wonders-how-canada-got-mean/). Maybe its a good thing we aren't paying too much attention to it. LOL
