Re: Re: odd how two different people get different impressions of this interview
Um, do you know what you are talking about?  Georgia?  A country bordering Russia, not a state in the United States.  The President of Georgia ordered shelling of his own people, with peacekeepkers present.  Why?  Good question.  How should we respond?  Also a GOOD QUESTION.  We should not declare war on Russia for defending her own military (Russian peacekeepers), should we?  Standing up for our allies has limits, at least among the informed.

Re: odd how two different people get different impressions of this interview

I have grown very tired of you not understanding the simple things. I guess I have to explain this again.

What I am saying here is study the questions. They are the usual defeatist lefttist garbage. What is with you people? You do not want to defend your nation. Are you stupid? Is that it? I have had it with you whiny liberal twits. Listen to what Gibson asks, as if we should not stand up for our allies, as if we should ignore intelligence that is telling us that an attack is eminent, as if we should do nothing but what liberals are all about: just sit around hoping everyone likes us then let them take the first punch. What is wrong with you?! GET IT NOW? Why don't I come over to your house slap you into a corner while you be nice to me and hope I like you then you wish to talk about the situation while I overtake your house? What is wrong with you?! Do you get it now?

Re: The sad part is how the intervews have been edited........
Just by watching the interview you could tell the tape was cut to pieces. Bad edit job on this one. I agree 100%!

odd how two different people get different impressions of this interview
I thought the questions were just fine.

I thought the answers were the usual political double talk and sidestepping.  She'd make a good mayor of a big city -- they seem to do that well.

But you already have the "liberal media" bias which is keeping Mr. Gibson and other from asking the hard questions, and there are some pretty hard questions out there.

What's wrong, for instance, with asking for a direct answer to the charge that she supported the "bridge to nowhere" until there was substantial opposition to it by the senate.  Wouldn't you want her to answer that question?

This keeps up, we would have prepared questions approved by the interviewee and maybe even scripted questoins from the interviewee's camp.

For sure we don't need any opposition.

I think what you are saying is that we don't need elections --  just keep one party in control in perpetuity.

I've heard of governments like that . . . wonder what they are . . . ?

What questions do you want asked?
Georgia is a hot topic, and apparently one Palin doesn't know much about.  Georgia isn't a candidate for NATO membership due to undefined borders.  Beyond that, her answer in whole wasn't too far off; she did advocate diplomacy and unified action by NATO and other interested parties opposing Russia.  She apparently has not thought much about the consequences of her memorized lines, but Gibson made her.  Didn't help much.  Ask her again, and she still won't know.  But should we go to war against the second largest nuclear power because Georgia's president violates an agreement and starts shelling a breakaway area?  (Yes, Russia's actions were provoked, Ms. Palin.)  Seems like a pretty high price to pay for someone else's stupidity.  Oh, but there is that Iraq thing . . .

Re: Very good post.........
RedStatesMan, McSane has chosen a real celebrity. She's famous now, like Sean Penn and Will Smith. But can she act?

Your post is illogical. Sorry. The right wing wackos are coming untethered!

Gibson asked sensible questions for someone With a thin resume, to let her show that she could handle the job. Questions about Georgia in NATO and Israel taking out Iranian nukes are foremost in America's best interest. It speaks nothing of an unwillingness to defend this great nation. McSane is trashing this country with his sleaze. Who does he think he's fooling!

RSM, please don't sit down, you might injure your neck.

This is not a very good post at all. Your idealogues are lying to you too.
