Good stuff lady. Very interesting that Obama has never been questioned on this. May I put a link to this on my next post? This is right out there.

Re: Jane

Ha!  Nautikos, the bike paths are for the locals to figure out how to pay, at least in my book.  Holland, MI, where I live, has amazing bike paths which I believe we locals have paid for w/ our taxes.  At least it feels that way, but I could be wrong.

Re: Close, But No Cigar
mousehop, you do mention a legit concern regarding Palin.  Most states, and for sure the feds, don't have the oil revenue that AK enjoys. . . . She has been very spoiled by that.

Thanks kingmi!  I'd hoped to ride this weekend except that it's been raining all weekend here, too!  Ah well.

Close, But No Cigar
Palin has cut back on the earmarks going to Alaska.  Or perhaps she just doesn't have the connections to get the money.  McCain has stated on the record that Palin has not requested earmarks as governor, but last year she requested over $250 million, and this year (for next year's budget) she requested $170 million.  So McCain is flat wrong about her record, and her requests still sound like a lot of money to me.

With all due respect to the senator, Palin did not kill the Bridge to Nowhere.  It was killed by public outcry, and by congressional action.  And Palin did not say, "Thanks but no thanks."  She kept the money and spent it on roads to nowhere.  Her record is hardly pristine on earmarks, and is worse on general budgeting.  She took a small town with no debt, and left it with $3,000 per person in debt.  Earmarks are a tiny portion of the federal budget.  Eliminate them, and you cut less than 5% of this years deficit.  So let's get to the real money.  How does Palin expect the budget to be balanced?  Like Alaskas, by oil revenues and federal spending?  Or by McCain's magic economics through tax cuts?  Just because it's never worked before doesn't mean we shouldn't keep trying, right?

JanesO.....
One of his earmarks was for the hospital where Mrs. O-man worked........in 2007, serving in the US Senate, Obama earmarked $1 million for the University of Chicago Medical Center, where Michelle Obama worked and had received a pay raise of nearly $200,000 soon after Obama was elected to the Senate. She had no trouble accepting the money.

Perhaps Ms Palin has more to her than just good looks
But her good looks appeal to our (guys) little head. Thanks for your input on "hot for teacher"

Re: JanesOpinion

Justi, I fear you're right.  Of course the other side is likely saying the same thing. . . which is another reason why I hate politics.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

The facts certainly stand on their own merit. I am a bicyclist and I did applaud the money for bike paths. I am disabled and the only way I get around is by bike. sam

What they can't distort they will contrive from nothing. I have never seen in my life such a sour, raw and vulgar assassination of any woman in this country. Excellent post as usual.
