I agree. The most inmprotant part of the educational process should be to encourage an exchange of ideas and information. Also to support the ongoing search for knowledge and awareness, for individuals to explore and define their own veiws.

You have spotted educations poorly hidden agenda...
The last thing that a ruling elite want is a culture of free thinkers and questioners, because the prime function of power is maintenance of itself. Our current ruling elite have to work hard to maintain their position and maintain the fiction of democracy and much of their work is done through teaching people to accept what they are told via schools and the media. If people start to question these things we could have anarchy!
