I'd say 10 years entitles him to a great deal of your trust (a
lthough I can’t speak to the Jekyll and Hyde aspect – actually maybe I can because I married someone who can run very hot and cold). I think there’s a part of that in all of us. Observe yourself closely and you may even find a bit of that in yourself. And you're right, sometimes the loved one of an alcoholic needs just as much help, guidance, counseling.
