Most people won't understand the reason for blogging - I often wonder myself.   It is a place for focusing or meandering and there are very few beans available to be spilled.

majroj, yes, who ARE all these peole and WHERE did they develop

their opinions and WHY are they posting them online?

Kinda like my mom when she asks me, "And you are the voice of authority on which subjects?"

I told her that I had about six blogs and she burst out laughing.

The group you're going to attend is like other forums in a way -- they want
the speakers/writers who stir responses from the audience. Controversy can be uncomfortable, but it sells papers...  and btw, it's kinda neat being in someone's secret writing closet. I'm mining insights, Azur!  Keeping my fingers crossed for your success in the competition! :)pat

Blogging has become a vortex indeed, or a whirling dogfight sometimes.
Tell 'em that. Blogging has become like Encounter Groups of the Sixties...how much "honesty" can you take, fake, or reject? And while "all voices will be heard", doesn't that make you just want to clap hands to ears and chant "LALALALALAAAA" sometimes? (Not necessarily here, but I've been branching out a little).

I made it, Azur.  And, it was very interesting.  Don't you just love people who make assumptions.  LOL

Well, at least you'll be able to share (within the panel) the nuance of the privacy of blogging - the escape it provides from our "real life".  I've only been blogging for a few years but I value this private place; a place where I can spill my innermost thoughts (in poetry form) and I know only a small audience may or may not find some value in them or relate to them. A secret maybe, but it's an exellent arena to organize one's thoughts, vent, or just share an emotion or experience.
