I
used to laugh at the old addage, "The dog ate my homework." Yeah, right... That is, I
scoffed until it happened to ME! I took a message for my husband, a
photographer, from a potential client. I said he would call him right back
(he was outside grilling something, surrounded in aromatic smoke. As I
handed my husband the pink slip, our Golden Retriever, Brett, jumped up
and ate it right out of my hand. I think he saw me handing him a hamburger or something. The point is, the dog ate the message. I didn't have a cc of it and the guy never called us back. I was disappointed. I so wanted to tell him the "dog ate your telephone number!" The potential client probably thought Jay was some deadbeat, but the phone number was eaten, by the dog. It CAN happen...
