This is a comment regarding the blog not just this entry.
I think we put too much emphasis on success and failure. Einstein said,"Do not strive to be a success but strive to be of value." From what I have read I think you are of value to your 5 year olds and value to your 18 year old.
I have also had 2 failed marriages. I don't think of them as failures but of experiance gained.
Keep going and fight the good fight.

i'd say you are going to be just fine 'grandpa'...
with all these worries, i sense a good father in you my friend, not to mention she is not even your 'real' child, but you cared just as a true father does. And, the vomiting for pregnant women is fairly normal my friend...she'll be over it in time...
