Funny, they seem to give more cautionary concern to civilian recruits
for government agencies -- like the Defense Mapping agency which used geography students from the college I worked for -- than to the persons who will have the power to alter the course of events. I never heard of Gov. Palin before John McCain named her his running mate. But I did find it endearing that she asked exactly what a VP does on a daily basis. Sign of intelligence that she asks questions. This political year gets curiouser and curiouser...

All anyone knows about politics is just what they read, and what one reads is picked, or gaged by what they have already made up their minds to. What they have made up their minds to stand for comes from many things. Many people read the same news and come away with differing things that have imbedded themselves in the mind.

I am not sure. The government is a government of the people, by the people and for the people and we are getting more and more diverse all the time. I don't know if it is a problem for getting her elected but it if is it will certainly be a problem for this nation. She has been in the news for some time I don't know why so many weren't listening.

Thanks, Nautikos, for your comment. This stuff gets more....more....MORE...confounded all the time. Justi thinks it is because I'm a city girl and Palin is a country one. Well, she may be right.

Re: TAPS
Justi, there's an awful lot of city girls in this USofA. Is that going to make for a problem?

HollyBird, We found out that there never was anything wrong with the tomatoes. It was the cilantro from Mexico that was making everyone sick. It was watered by water from animal waste runoff. Really been enjoying those tomatoes.

My opinion is that McCain figured he would try to
get the Hillary votes which were undecided and in doing so insulted many of our collective intelligence(s?). She is now being investigated for the firing of a government official - she has hired a lawyer (fresh off the press). She is
for the practice of aerial hunting (from a helicopter), of wolves in Alaska - a heinous practice at best. She is pro-life though. I think it is important that she be investigated, McCain would be the oldest man to be elected president if he wins - it is not alarmist to think she might have to fill his shoes in the event of his untimely demise. She says she will give 100% to the office if they are elected - what about the down syndrome baby she just had 3 months ago? I have more to opine but I don't want to be run out of town on a (dead), Elk.

She is an excellent choice. She is not a city girl and may not be understood easily by one, but she is a good choice.

This strikes me as another rather typical example of a media bias in favor of the 'other side'. Surely, as the governor of a state, her affairs are an open book to anyone who cares to look, and I'm sure McCain knew enough about her. To make a big thing of the fact that the 'official' vetting takes place only now is just an issue because there really is nothing else to complain about, other the fact that she is a Republican, of course...
