Thanks for that most interesting post about your Dad! I went to the links as well, and did some further googling - unfortunately, I couldn't find a picture of the watch your remakable father designed. I strikes me that he was one of those fortunate men who was always able to combine his passion and his work into a unified whole...

Wonderful post, Ciel.  It wouldn't surprise me at all if my Dad listened to your Dad on those radio programs in the 1950's.  He was so interested in astronomy and he studied it on his own and he would take us out in the backyard at night to point out different things of interest.

What a fascinating story about your father - most definitely an interesting man with an rich career path (watch and all).  I remember the days when planetariums were not computerized and I loved sitting back staring up at the big sky while a gentle voice guided me through the solar system.  Oh... and, as always, your post was superbly written.
