Sira

Did you read yesterday that some grocery stores in Montreal are still selling the contaminated meat - after being told about it?   I would think that is a criminal offence.

As you know, I understand about the non-communication.  I've started blaming the weather and telling myself that I'll soon be me again.  Take care, Sira.

Hi Sira!
At least your Canadian leader isn't resigning!  Here in Japan the PM is resigning and no one knows why, except that he is flinging the job as PM as far away as he can.  Just last year another one resigned in the same way...

As far as my hubby is concerned, any time is a good time for a sandwich.
I must agree, lol....

Re: Nothin' like a fried baloney sandwich with a nice spoonful of mayo...

Pat,

My sandwiches have to have the following: real meat (not that packaged junk). Lettuce, tomato, and dill pickles. If any of those things are missing, Sira isn't eating it!

Sorry to hear about the lack of coffee--I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't have my daily dose of liquid alertness!

Re: Sira

Naut,

I've been telling Mark for ages that all the processed garbage is bad for him. But being an "old man", he's set in his ways and refuses to give up the sandwiches.

And don't' worry about me--I don't touch the stuff!

Re: it has been the quiet season in blogit ville too

Azur,

I suppose people are busy in the "real world", enjoying the summer months!

Nothin' like a fried baloney sandwich with a nice spoonful of mayo...
Or egg salad. Now that's appealing. Someone handed me a sliced turkey sandwich with mayo, no lettuce, no anything else, just white bread and mayo. I wouldn't have liked it under any circumstances, but I couldn't swallow even one bite. My taster's been off for a week or so, nothing tastes like it should -- and the one/fourth of a cup of coffee I tried yesterday burned my stomach and gave me the jitters. Weird, since I've got a one-pot-a-day habit. Only thing that appeals now is green tea with honey... :)

Sira
Mark's love of processed meat should be of concern regardless of any bacterial additives. The usual ones are bad enough! Here's a quote, (one of thousands):

“Just one ounce of processed meat per day increases your risk of stomach cancer by 15 percent to 38 percent.” Source: Larsson SC, Orsini N, Wolk A. Processed meat consumption and stomach cancer risk: a meta-analysis. J Natl Cancer Inst. 2006 Aug 2;98(15):1078-1087.

Sorry, hope I didn't spoil your (and his) appetite, but there are better alternatives...
