I was astonished at the things that had transpired in the last 70 years. God is always first with me. I continue to pray for our leaders too! sam

Progess
Thanks for the history lesson, but I think I'll stick with Howard Zinn.
I'm not much of a progressive because I find them too paternalistic. Conservatives, on the other hand, I find too paternalistic on the wrong issues. That's why I'm so lonely.
But I've read the Constitution, and though I agree that the Founding Fathers saw this country as Christian, their document was secular, and has allowed us to improve the country beyond their imaginings or comprehension. In the current election, we have an unproven Christian Liberal versus a man whose signature legislative achievement is clearly unconstitutional (McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform. See the First Amendment.). So we'd better get some good people in Congress. That's my advice.

Progressive.........
is such a comfortable word, don't you think? I mean, who on earth could be against progress? Doesn't everyone want to be Pro instead of Con??? It's a word that leads one to gain a sense of superiority......
If I'm Pro, I must be more forward thinking and understanding of others needs, why won't they listen to me? Sound familiar????
