I enjoyed reading this post. My first husband and I remained able to talk.
Well I think sharing kids and grandchildren helped but if I ever see No again it will only be with my lawyer in a court room.

Ex_turpi, yes, and I believe all experiences seek to teach us valuable life
lessons, perhaps shaping us into better human beings.

Hi Ariala, we a human; we are social beings;those things happen to most of us. We struggle to forgive. I do not know that we ever forget. Yet such experiences are some of the best in our lives. They are the pebbles that help us negotiate life's minefields.

Corbin, you know what? I truly WAS a tease...I thought it safe to "date"
friends, play with them emotionally and then walk away, but that made a lot of guys mad. Wonder why? LOL This guy might actually be a decent guy (now) and even then, but I brought out the worst in him and he in me. He needed control and a submissive girl...that wasn't me. He was right about me and guys, but gee, I wasn't ready to get serious, at least not with a guy like that!
And yes, it was very special for him to get married on my birthday...someone get the man a straight jacket.

Leon, some people don't respect how you feel. They only think of themselves
Sounds like you experienced that yourself. This guy was a classic. He got on the good side of all my friends and even my parents. No one understood why I didn't like him and broke it off. He spent over $100 on a wedding gift for one of my friends he hardly knew, trying to get on her good side. He'd buy gift for my parents and was quite charming and a gentleman, but I knew the real person and he was dangerous.

The guy sounds like a big jerk!!!
anyone who disrespects and abuses someone should immediately go see a shrink. i am glad you saw the danger ahead of time. I remember once, someone was intersted in marrying me and kept stalking me day and night. I had some friends talk to her and the harassing almost immediately stopped. But until this day I still feel uncomfortable when I see this person around.
