Re: You ask if you're really ready...
Pat,
For the most part I have spent the past year and a half doing that. I have been on my own and the focus was on me. Yes, in the beginning it was to win him back...to be good enough, etc... but as time went by, I did get damn selfish and made it about me, about loving me, about believing in me.
Last night was a bad moment but the truth of the matter is I do believe that I DESERVE love, I deserve a partner that doesn't cheat on me, a partner that works as hard as I do for the relationship and one that doesn't run away when things get tough.

You ask if you're really ready...
Speaking from my own experience with a marriage that became a test of endurance, that ended after 20 years of feeling responsible for keeping things running, for making him happy, etc. -- I can tell you that you are ready. But you're not ready to get into another relationship.
What you're ready for is to get to know yourself. Women get so focused on others they lose themselves. There were ideas in your mind when you were nine or ten years old, expectations about life. What if you just spend six months or a year taking care of Bel, giving her feedback and praise for taking small steps?
