Re: Thank you for the kind words..........
Corbin,
I like reading anything that makes me think. And I've been quietly reading you for quite some time now--this isn't the first time you've given me a new perspective, and I'm sure it won't be the last!

Re: Maybe we shoulda voted for Hillary after all. :)
Pat,
I'm not at all convinced that McCain would be any better (or worse) than Obama. But then, I can't think of any politicians I'd trust at this point--my youthful (aka naive) faith in democracy has taken a serious blow this past year!

Re: Sira
Naut, he certainly does!
Demagogue is such a fantastic word--in fact, I think I'll make it my word of the day! Thanks for the verbal inspiration!

Thank you for the kind words..........
I have never tried to pretend I didn't have an agenda.......a point of view to promote. When I first came to Blogit I thought the way to go was a strategy of driving home your points like a column of Russian tanks heading through Georgia..........that's not a successful course of action.......
Find topics and points that the average person doesn't see or hear about that are occurring around them on a daily basis and inform........prompt someone to think about something they usually avoid........make them wonder. Your deciding to write something on a topic you usually avoid is exactly what I'm after and I thank you for it!
As far as I'm concerned, there's only been one perfect person to walk this earth........and when someone tries to portray themselves as infallible, the answer to all things, a peoples only true hope......we need to understand that there's even more of reason for a closer examination of that person.

Maybe we shoulda voted for Hillary after all. :)
As for McCain -- being 72 I have a clue about the brain of a person that age, the little things you know, but can't bring to your tongue, the lapses of memory, the confusion that comes with too much activity, etc... And he's made some off the cuff comments that are very George Bush-like, meaning the GOP would continue to support the wealthy at the expense of the rest of us. It's a quandry wrapped in a dilemma.

It is just
too frightening to consider power in the hands of 'a man'. I shudder to think...
