Re: Questions unanswered

Welcome, mousehop, and thanks for identifying so succintly the problem with the "global warming"  hysteria: "That's why most scientists suggest the measured rise in temperature may be man-caused rather than flatly stating that is demonstrated fact."

The only point I'd challenge is whether or not "most" scientists suggest this. Otherwise, you are spot on - it is suggested that it may be. The problem is The GORE (Grand Omnipotent Revered Expert) and his followers "flatly stating that is demonstrated fact" like good reader Xenox is so fond of doing. Talk about superficial, simplistic and without context . . .

By the way, for the context of the entire article, just click on the link I provide in each installment. Highly recommended!

Questions unanswered
These statistics you share are, well, pointless.  Yes, carbon dioxide is a trace gas in the atmosphere, but it does absorb IR radiation, while nitrogen and oxygen, the non-trace gases, do not.  So, by the laws of physics, more carbon dioxide = more absorption.  In the real atmosphere, it's a bit more complicated, because carbon is cycled through various systems, and a lot of processes affect global temperature.  That's why most scientists suggest the measured rise in temperature may be man-caused rather than flatly stating that is demonstrated fact.  But superficial and simplistic statements without context add nothing to the debate.  After all, adding "one atom" when starting with 38 is almost a three percent increase.  How much difference does that make in climate?  And how do you know?
