Prose lays out a story through fairly set grammatical rules, where poetry indicates a story by suggestion, imagery and metaphor, and breaks whatever grammatical rules it wants to.
So--the first two parts were delicious dark poetry... and the third reads like prose despite the line-breaks.
It will be interesting to see where it goes next!
