Re: Sira

It is a dangerous thought...Mr. 16-days-in-between-posts...

I think that's a brilliant way to make paths--let the people show you where they want to walk!

Sira

It's the 'I can't remember why I even bother,' that's the most dangerous thought, Sira.  You bother because you can't help yourself.  When you see something beautiful in the real world, you subconsciously squirrel it away to be used in your writing, or try to find a different way of describing it even as you take in the beauty.

I lived in a new town in Scotland that was invented/created in the area where I had always lived.  As they built it section by section the planners put only roads in but no pathways.  They waited until the inhabitants' feet wore away the earth, then paved over the natural paths.  It sounds like Calgary went a wee bit further than that.  Keep feeding the birds, Sira.

Re:

TAPs, I wish we had 24 hour grocery stores! Man, I'd be a regular 2 am visitor!

As for the attacks, I'm sure it's an experience I'll never forget. And I know its one I can't wait to be rid of!

Re: Hang in there

Kaboom, I've been telling myself the same thing, in order to maintain at least a bit of my sanity! I really hope it doesn't take 6 months though--my patience will never hold out that long!

Cheers to you, and the coming of cool fall winds!

Re: Sira

Thanks Naut!

I've heard you guys are having some yucky weather this year--but you're always welcome to come out here and warm up under our sunshine!

Re: First of all, you have reasons for being stressed.

Thanks for the kind comment Ciel!

Calgary is pretty great--and yes, our weather in the winter can get a bit chilly. Do come back and visit, but I'd suggest planning the trip for sometime in May or September--you won't freeze or bake then!

Re: I love the visuals your description brings to mind.

Thanks Pat!

As soon as the physical "funk" lifted, the mental fog started to clear--I'll be writing myself healthy in no time!

It's been years since I was on a pedal boat.  I forgot there was such a thing.  LOL
One does not forget panic attacks, though.   I haven't had a panic attack in years and years but that is because I gave up on shopping.   Even now, I go to a grocery mart that stays open all night because there is no one there at 2:00 a.m. except for stockers and a checkout person waiting just for me.

Hang in there
I wrote on a new story for the first time in ages on saturday.  I find it very difficult to work at this time of year, it's too hot, the kids are home, or I just don't feel well.  I am looking for renewal when it cools down.  Sometimes those things take six months.  If you don't hear, then chances are, they're really considering your manuscript!  At least that is what I tell myself hugs!

Sira
Sorry you're not feeling well! But you do make me want to visit Calgary and its apparently fabulous summer! Ours is turning out to be miserable, the wettest summer in something like 75 years, when we were still living in teepees...

First of all, you have reasons for being stressed.

The situation with Gracie and with your mom and sister... The waiting for response for a major investment of time, energy and emotion...  the unending heat...

Who wouldn't be feeling it?

Second--I love Calgary!  Haven't been there for a while, but I have always enjoyed visiting there.  One time I was there in October, it was just the opposite from now: so cold the weather reporters started with the time it takes exposed flesh to freeze...  and the wind was howling out of the Arctic with nothing in the way to slow it down!

I love the visuals your description brings to mind.
You definitely have a way with words. I hope this blue fugue lifts and you get your good energy back soon. Maybe you can write your way out of it. :)
