FierceQueen, It is still there just waiting to help you through bad times, you just have to have the strength to start the first few notes.

wow.... this is amazing
What is it about music,
and singing, and dancing?
Are they fickle? ...cowards? ...
fair-weather friends
Those were my favorite lines. That is really interesting. They really are some "fair-weather friends" They disapear when you are in sorrow and need them most. That is one interesting poem. It was a delight to read this.

But I as a person and we as a community of persons have had music that has
been with us when the chips are down.

Yes, Justi. Like Mahalia Jackson singing....
"His Eye Is On The Sparrow" or Thomas A. Dorsey singing his "Precious Lord".

When we are down is the time to sing, dance and play music. It may seem difficult but that is when the Lord meets you at the point of your need. You know he is with you, sing anyway. Lovely poem.

Anger has a way of killing the desire to sing. But, if one can make themselves sing, the anger will fade away.

I used to like to consider myself as one. I haven't written poetry for a long time. Everything in this blog is "Second Time Around."

TAPS, you are so right
You so easily find songs that share your feelings of joy or sadness, but when you are stressed and angry and need it the most, you can't seem to find it as your mind is blocked
