Re: Lady Liberty is a very recognizable symbol, and grabs our attention
Hi Pat B  Thanks for stopping in.  I need to get that book as I am a bit rusty I think in my use of punctuation mainly...I like your thoughts on Lady Liberty.  It certainly is a powerful symbol and to manhandle it like that, my word, it is attention grabbing in its sacrilege!  Freedom is so important isn't it?

Lady Liberty is a very recognizable symbol, and grabs our attention
in a heartbeat, so it's an effective hook to get you to buy the book or a ticket to the movie.  I read the book you mentioned, "Eats, shoots and leaves" and it's really funny. I never noticed any grammar problems with your blogs. You're exceptionally good with that. But a published book, it seems to me, can be expected to meet higher standards. :)pat

We have a juvenile need to deface sacred symbols
The more taboo the act, the more satisfying to the vandals.  In the spirit of sacred cows making the best hamburger, Lady Liberty must be sacrificed in at least one summer blockbuster a year.  Defiling things that represent purity and goodness makes some people feel powerful.  Swastikas on synagogues, etc. Same mentality.

I've always wanted to see her up close and personal. The Planet
of the Apes was just scary ... Charlton Heston always scared me after that... like Jessica Walters after the movie, Play Misty for Me, lol.  Have a great day mysterious one.
