Re: Consistency
Hopefully , mousehop, the surge works -- whichever political ideology one supports.  The last thing Iraq needs is yet more violence, bloodshed and civil war.  Although I am generally a conservative, I have not been all that supportive of the war from day 1, but since we're in it, we need to finish it and finish well!

Consistency
As I read this, I saw, first, no inconsistency, and second, a complete lack of analysis in the original piece and the comments.  Obama, and others, question whether the surge is a success not based on violence, which we all expected to decrease somewhat with more troops present, but on progress toward the stated goals of the surge:  improvement in the political situation.  That remains open to question.  Personally, I've been saying we needed more troops in Iraq from day 2.  Day 1 was conquering Saddam Hussein's military.  Day 2 was establishing security.  Now we may have reached that goal.  But will the government in Iraq function?  If not, the surge was a failure.

Ha ha, Justi, good one.
She really seems like a neat lady who has been very open regarding her strengths and weaknesses, struggles, etc.  Not to mention what a great business lady she has been!

Naut, they're hoping for peoples' need for a "savior" over an intelligent, no frills McCain type.  Thanks for stopping by!!

The fact that he can do no wrong for those who see him as some sort of absent minded savior blows my mind. Oh well the rest of us will have to live with it. I say MCcain should get his wife as VP. She would make a better president than both of those running.

He relies on the usual forgetfulness of the 'man in the street', and the deliberate forgetfulness of the media...

My favorite Nobama quote......

"Uh....Uh....Uh....Uh....Uh....Uh....Uh!"

Ya know, it's just not the same without those teleprompters......
