What a terrible horrible thing to happen. I'll remember her in my prayers
tonight.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I saw Alex today and she seemed
to be doing better.  They have set up a support group at the school where the girls attend.

that is a tough thing for such a young child to
experience. I remember loosing a close friend when I was 13 or 14 - it was mind-numbing. Poor girl.

How very sad. This child will need all the love and understanding she can get. Thank you for telling us. I will pray for her. Too much pain for such a young age.

I just can't imagine experiencing death and loss at such a young age...  it must be difficult to process those emotions and the magnitude of it all.

Shelly
It's very sad.
I've had almost the same experience...at around that age.
I girl in my class that lived in a trailer park through the woods behind my house had died when their trailer caught fire.

Trailers burn up within minutes. I had just started getting to know her...had been back there to play with her about twice before it happened.

It was really creepy being in school...sitting at the lunch table with everyone talking about it. I still remember.

How traumatic for Alex.  I hope that her mother realizes that some counseling might be in order for her well being.
