- Go to Thank God for the manic part of manic depression. I get things done.
My first husband was diagnosed some years after we were divorced. It made
me able to understand so much and to forgive him more. The second one is just a nasty evil man.
You I really admire darlin' Age des help us to know who we are and why we are.

Re: At least you have an understanding...
cheugon, not only an understanding, but now, with age, a mellowing of the symptoms. The ups are not so wildly high and the lows are not so deeply low.
I feel more like a grizzly bear, feeding frenzy in prep for the winter hibernation, kind of existence. Not so bad, if you see it all as just life.
My youth was devastating, however, and I am so glad to have gotten beyond that. Sympathies for your and her suffering with her illness, it is not easy for everyone involved. Especially children who don't understand.

At least you have an understanding...
...of the cyclic nature of your moods and seem to have the situation pretty well in hand.
My first wife was manic-depressive, so I know how challenging that condition can be.
Kudos to you, benzinha, for your handling of it.
