I think its just like poets do with words, the words are there, everyone knows them...but poets come and put them together just so to express what they feel... the same way singers take those lyrics and those notes and combine them in a certain way, to express what they feel and how they feel it. That is how they make the music their own. And about you John... want you to know the condo association is holding your mailman hostage so he does not deliver any more songs to you. The neighbors are complaining and the zoo keeper says the animals get too nervous when you sing... is that macho Tarzan-like high note of yours my friend... other wise...that was an excellent post as always... BTW My favorite of Patsy is Crazy I just love that song. Bye for now BFF take care of you.

It is quite something how an artist can pick up a song a make it their own - even make it their signature song at times - and the creator/writer probably never envisioned it being sung that way.
