I have a rule I sometimes tell people on my trips.........
The odds on the presences of Bed Bugs is dependent on the sanitary habits of the room's previous occupant, no matter where you're staying!

my daughter and I a few years back were staying at a well known motel and when she went to get into the bed, there was dog hair all over the blankets, yuk. I have found you cant please everyone, so those that wrote bad things are probably the types you never can please, do what you think is best for you

Blackcat, I usually don't skimp either...it's just that the location
is in the middle of everything I want to see.

I don't skimp on cleanliness. If it's that dirty, it's probably not in a
good area of town either. Better to stay somewhere safe and clean and have to walk a bit farther, than dirty and scary. But that's just me.

Shelly....Let me give you a big tip!
Go to the web site "Trip Advisor".
TripAdvisor
I use it in my business....this link takes you to the USA page.....type in a town or city, there is a list of things but the first one is the name you typed in.....under it are topics: Hotels, Restaurants, etc.....
When you click on Hotels....a ranking will come up for almost every hotel in that town.....it will say #1 based on 12 reviews, or 43 reviews.....then you read the reviews and you will see trends about that property......if several people mention bugsm, rude front desk, or noise.....the odds are there's a problem there......
It saves us a bunch of headaches when looking at properties that we are not familiar with!
