benzinha - I'll start right at the beginning
The image I posted is the basic outline of a website template image. Any portion of it can be covered with other images but if it is going to be used as a website template, the layout as you see it is somewhat rigid. Once the layout is at this stage it gets sliced up into 4 images to used as backgrounds for the template. The parts it gets sliced into are shown below.
The header and footer area backgrounds are fixed height and do not repeat vertically when displayed, the side column and content area backgrounds repeat vertically so that the web page can be any length (as long as the website content). Repeating vertically places limitations on what the side column background and content area backgrounds can look like. The content area background should also be a color that allows for easy reading of text.
You need not do anything to this image unless you have an idea, it was more to give you an idea of what types of images I'm looking for. If you produce an image with this basic layout, I will dice it and turn it into a blog template in about 10 minutes. The creative aspect is in making a nice header background and then deriving an overall theme from it.
Stepping outside of the limitations that this layout presents can also be turned into web pages but there can be a lot more work involved in doing so. The real tough part is producing nice looking headers.

Could you spell it out for a woman not firing on all cylinders???
You want me to lay things over it, but like what things?? Mermaids and freighters and words??? I need to go to bed.

Wow benzinha, we have decidedly different takes on that episode. I feel badly for putting you in a position where you incurred expense at precisely a time in your life that you did not need any more expenses. I was trying to be helpful and it hardly turned into help but you just let me off the hook bigtime . . . thank you.
I have a great idea. A collaboration on a project between you and I. As you know I do not have the design gene, I am graphic design deficient simply because my image editing skills all centered around digital images I took myself. I still own and use an 11 year old Sony Mavica that takes a full sized floppy disk as its removable medium. My world of image editing has been almost entirely in jpeg format. .....but let me move on.
I have a concept image that shows a bare bones outline of a template that can be used on virtually any type of website including blogit. It could skin a forum, be turned into a WordPress theme or be used as a theme for my ongoing project: Gomers Template for osCommerce. In any case I think this would be fun for others, this blog has a lot of people reading it but sitting in the bushes. I also have the proper tools for a collaboration. I'll start with my web forum: HERE . . this forum has many resources but is a great place for a discussion.
Now take a look at the image, I am making my own image from bits and pieces which are available for future theme devlopment. Once I got what is essentially just an outline together, I saved in two image file formats: My bits and pieces were all transparent gif format from which I produced what you see in the screenshot below, an image layer or overlay that is also a transparent gif. (The screenshot is jpeg format)
The full sized version of the image below is 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels high. This is the image that gets diced to form the main site template backgrounds. I have a couple of other resources that I will bring up in a later comment or post. For the time being however take a look at the image below; copy it and blow it up (it will be a jpg file) then let your creative ideas flow. I know, I know, I couldn't design my way out of a wet paper bag.

It's true, gome, friends ask me to make them logos, etc. as an artist
and then give them to them, because we're friends. That is so funny.
I will do it for family and that's it. They always do something nice for me in return, so, it always feels even eventually.
Funny post and you wrote something like this once before, can't remember when, so it's a recurring nightmare, comedy.
