I was always a spontaneous traveler when I was younger, always...

and I always had a blast... until the year I planned and saved for a vacation in Lake Tahoe with my best friend.  We saved for six months just for the air fare and the money to spend when we got there.  The house we were to stay in belonged to friends of a friend.  We arrive in Denver to take the "Rocky Mountain" airways plane to Tahoe.  It was a cargo plane that crashed a week after we got back home... ride from hell.  We get to the house and there are at least 12 cats in residence - I love 'em, but I'm allergic as hell to them.  I looked like a blow fish with chicken pox the entire time we were there.  I slept in the hot tub room, lmao!  It's impossible to be spontaneous with my dogs, so, no would be my answer :)

I think traveling by bike would be spontaneous no matter where you were headed!

I'm a "planner".  We've taken a couple of big trips over the past couple of years (Portugal and Greece) so for months before hand I became an internet freak; pulling off maps, checking out towns we might want to visit, finding accomodations, and even printing maps of large airports such a Munich (which is a small town in itself).  Mr.T. was even surprised I had printed off instructions as to how to purchase a ticket for the train from one of their automated boxes (and although he laughed at me at first, it turned out to be extremely helpful).  Where are you headed in November?

B and I used to take short trips all the time and with minimal planning.

Recently we got married and really wanted to plan for a cool honeymoon but things just didn't work out that way. We did take a honeymoon trip and it was very nice and with very minimal planning, the room being booked before we got there and a reservation at a restaurant were managed by the kids, who wanted to make sure we had a good time.

Just read my blog for details on "good" and "bad" adventures while traveling! In general we have a pretty good idea where we are going, but once there, we just like to smell the roses and follow our instinct. Tschüs.

Just got back

from dinner, sorry for the delay.  I'm kind of a planner however I do get spontanious moments in the morning.  I traveled to NY one time and the flight attendent crammed another bag into that it put a hole in my screen. Didn't realize until setting up for the demo.  Dang the luck

I'm a little bit of both...day trips are often unplanned...trips where I

plan on staying longer are usually well planned
