Re: OIL COMPANIES HAVE PLACES TO DRILL OTHER THAN OFFSHORE

So why can't they do what they said they could do when they said they couldn't do it?

Three big reasons:

  1. Congressional interference.
  2. Litigation.
  3. Overregulation.

Indeed they have many other places - - like ANWR.

Re: oil in 7 years won't reduce gas prices now.

You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding. I'll be devastated . . .

Okay, I've got my composure back, at least enough to know that I want to be around in seven or more years, and that I want to have fuel when that time comes. Develop it now, you'll have it then - simple logic that is utterly lost on Obama and the other Democrats.

OIL COMPANIES HAVE PLACES TO DRILL OTHER THAN OFFSHORE

Way back, when oil prices were a lot lower than they are now, oil companies said they could bring oil up from where wells are now, but the price was too low, so it was unprofitable so to do.  Now, agreeably, prices are quite high.

So why can't they do what they said they could do when they said they couldn't do it?

WOL
There are some simple solutions. If all congress were reduced to the status of a single head of household and a minimum wage job for three months this country would be turned right side up in a hurry. The psychology of drilling in US will bring down oil and we can use reserves while we wait on that and look for other solutions which are right under our noses. Coal is an ace but some of the alternatives are a lot higher than gas. It is there and we can do it if we stop playing like a teen ager afraid someone will not like us. They don't anyway!
