I agree, sam
And pitching isn't our strong suit to begin with.  Inge was a good catcher -- good enough to start before we were fortunate enough to land Pudge.  But Pudge is a legitimate Hall of Fame candidate, and I would hate to lose him.  Unfortunately, it could happen.  Unless I missed something, Pudge was resigned to a new and shorter contract last season after considerable talk that Detroit would not resign him.  He's hitting up a storm right now, but if he should fade again, the front office might very well let him go to trim payroll and get a younger guy behind the plate.  That's the way of most front offices these days, the dollars and cents of the bottom line.  For now I'm just happy that we have both IRod and Inge.  Hopefully they'll both be back next year.

Did you hear about the Marlin's asking for the availability of Ivan!? Our IRod. I will be angry is they even  talk to the Marlin's. Inge is the back up for crying out loud! I don't get it! I thought he was in a long tern contract with Detroit! The pitching staff will suffer dramatically without him!  sam
