I think his innate goodness is what gives the impetus to succeed. It is success for him and her restful sleep tells me his watchful eye is upon her and in ways a savior! I found strength to overcome obstacles! This is a grand intrigue for me. I know it will roll around in my head for a few days now. Great composition. From TVs to SS thank you and have a fine day! Shelly I just think that good wins over evil any time!

The greats sure knew how to spin a tale..

Coleridge’s Christabel, Part I is a romantic tale in a medieval setting, with beautiful damsels, faithful love, religious piety, feudal aristocracy, enchantment and mystery as its principal motifs

The setting is the most important part to any tale..If you know where they are, it causes you to feel more..In this case..not have actually been in that era..makes us want yet not want to be there now..We all long for the enchantment and the mystery but, in all actuality we are ok with not seeing it or dealing with it..Reading it is then a great compromise on our terms..

The uncanny mystery is reinforced by the ambiguity of Geraldine’s nature. She seems not evil in herself but perhaps possessed by evil. We do not know whether she is to be pitied or feared. But the tale remains a fascinating depiction of evil, mysterious and erotic, insinuating itself behind Christabel’s natural goodness.

The possession of evil to has always been a fear, we see it in movies and other places..For us to place in next to a woman of natural goodness means that we are saying that it is out there we just don't know for sure were..And that good always wins over evil..

I really enjoyed this overview..I can see more depth to it now..What a great lesson..Thank you my mentor.. to you and yours.. Hope all is well with you?

Wonderful critique  Bhaskar... and you are right it is very erotic.  The theme of evil pursuing good is one we find often in the literature of ta=hat time, but this one in particular is ahead of its time in like you said the implied sexual nature of its plot. Great post as always dessert prince.  From the fun sands South Beach to your wise and ancient ones... all the best  xoxo
