Feenix, qut worrying about being one and be one!

But I'm sure you're already there.

To paraphrase my paraphrase of Mogan Freeman, just do it.

Or was that Nike?

Afrikaner,
thank you for for your kind words and for sharing your wise insights.

Man, what a manly article about being a man
I've often found the characteristics some groups of men attribute to "real men" rather immature and sometimes blatantly stupid.  I have the required genitals and therefore I'm a man.  Any other definition or set of criteria is no more than an attempt at feeling justified in arbitrary preferences. I don't care whether I'm considered to be "real" or not.  What is an "unreal" man anyway?

Re: Hi, TAPS!
LOL.  When a younger person that me says, "Yes, Ma'am", it makes me feel really ancient.  hahahaha

Hi, TAPS!
All I know is that every time I go out in public, nearly everyone I encounter calls me "sir". So, I guess if am not really "Man" yet, at least, I look like one.

feenix, To be able to admit such a thing is a sure sign that you have become a man.

Re: Sorry, Sira. My intention was not to be condescending or to split hairs.

No worries!

We may not be on the same page, but I think we're at least reading the same book

Re: Sira,
Isn't that just semantics--to me, not having a choice implies "need" or necessity.

blackcat,
I really do like you ... might even have a crush on you.

having read your posts, I'd say you're a man. And that would hold even
if you were a woman.  LOL  But like I said before, it all depends on your definition of man.

blackcat, should it matter what you consider me to be?

Sira,
A "Real Man" does not fight when he "needs" to. The only time a "Real Man" fights is when he has no other choice but to do so.

Feenix

I've always thought that a "real man" is someone who's strong enough to fight when he needs to, and wise enough to know that physical strength isn't everything. Oh, and having "dangly bits" is also a requirement...

I know I'm not a man... but I can't say whether you're one or not. :)

blackcat,
a "Man" is a "Man". It is just that simple.

hmmmm... I guess it depends on your definition of a man.
