RSM, you didn't get it at all
Although you clearly have no idea at all as to what 'contradiction' actually means.

I was using the words 'greed' and 'selfness' in the one post in a 'tongue in check' manner.
I was making a very valid point that you benefit from doing what is right for others, so by a certain logic one could be viewed as being 'greedy' because they are doing what is right and best for others.
Anyone with half a brain should be able to figure that one out by the style it was written in. This is only you proving you have no clue at all as to what you are talking about.  You only wish to attack me as much a possible on the silliest of ideas, just because you CANNOT prove me wrong on anything I say.

Now I also understand that because your greed is all focused on making sure you get into Heaven that you completely do not understand what is actually right and wrong, but instead allow your little book to tell you what is right and wrong.  You obviously don't care that most of what that book says is not even used by any modern religious group because it is very much out dated.  you are far to self absorbed to understand the big picture and actually understand just what morals should be.  My 'greed' is about enjoying life to its fullest and to do that I have to help others achieve the same thing.  But since you clearly don't care at all about what others need, you will never understand this at all.

The basic moral values of our society in the early 1900s was really, really bad.  We are talking about the time of prohibition, the most violent time in American history outside of a war.  We are also looking at a time when many atrocities were committed against 'minorities' and everyone looked the other way.  You see life was NEVER like 'Leave it to Beaver'.  I've talked to my grandparents and others of their generation, and the stories I have heard make it very clear that we have a much better sense of right and wrong now days than they did back then.  Back then if Uncle Bob was spending time alone with the little girls in the family, everyone in the family knew about it but no one did or said anything, because you wouldn't want the neighbors to think your family is 'bad'.  And if your daughter got pregnant when she was unwed, you had a back ally abortion or you disowned her and shipped her off because it would be too embarrassing for the family.

Sorry, but if one looks at the actual facts and not the sad little illusion you and many others like you who are really clueless about what morals really are, then you see that we are by far much better off now with our understanding and honesty about right an wrong than the generations of the past.
