Re: Gosh tornados.

Holly,

The cake is one of those traditions that started in the silliest way, and just stuck. The tornado never did form, and I was quite relieved!

Thanks for reading

Sira890,
You are so cool. And quite frankly, I agree with you that the US-led military campaign in the Middle East was, and is being, mishandled.

I have not had the chance to read your works yet, but I will begin doing so tomorrow. And I am looking forward to that because I have no doubt that I will like what I see.

Gosh tornados.
Wow I can't beleive you have made a cake every year since you were 10, that is sooo sweet. I hope the tornado doesn't materialize. Very interesting post, I hope to read many more in the future. Thanks for your lovely long comment on my latest post. HollyBird.xx

Re: loved the line about the regular quack returning...

LOL Pat! We had a good time. And I'm happy to report, there was no cake-related violence!

I'd highly recommend a TomTom--they really are useful, and oh-so entertaining.

Re: Sira

Naut, baking is a more exact "science" than cooking--it can be fiddly and frustrating. But there's nothing like opening up the oven door, and having the house fill with those wonderful scents!

I appreciate the tip, but I don't have a basement or a large freezer! I'm doomed...

Re: we had a tornado last year too---but the local beurocrats wouldn't actually

LOL FYS! Sure sounds like a tornado to me. What did they call it--an unusually bad wind storm? Swirling funnel of doom, maybe?

It's good to see you back blogging again!

Hilow, if I find a safe route to Oz, you can bet there will be a post about it!

and the b'day cake! It sounds like so much fun!  btw, you may have sold me a TomTom -- I'd love to have a cute Irish guy helping me motate around the country...

Happy baking! (To me, that's an oximoron - I hate it and never do it - too much measuring involved, lol!) As far as tornadoes are concerned, which we don't seem to get either, someone once told me the safest place is in your basement, tucked away in your freezer...you might want to un-plug it first, and get rid of the frozen strawberries and pork chops...

call it a tornado.  I don't know---uprooted trees smashing houses and telephone poles broken into the streets in a clear path across town---I dunno.  Sounds like a tornado to me!

When you find a safe way to Munchkinland, be a dear, and send directions!  HAHAHAHAHA  I've always wanted to go there myself and get a make over like Dorothy and her friends got!
