I write for the Ideal Reader, same as Stephen King...maybe.
Actually, I hardly write.

I don't take it personally at all. Not the being dropped thing. But yes I find it's funny, as if the wind just changed direction.

I have to say thank you for reading back. Things are much easier now. I think some friendships here do hold up. These are with the people who witness each others' lives.

I don't know, it's all very odd.
Sometimes these passing connections with people feel like friendships, and they often don't hold up to other environments, which I find peculiar - so I gave up trying to figure it out because you end up taking things a lot more personally than the situation merits.

Funny how we can make ourselves so clearly understood and misunderstood in this medium.

I had read everything up to date prior to coming back in and seeing your comments on my blog, you got to me before I could get to you, and I'm sorry your past year has been so up/down/all around the houses.

Azur
Well, I'm happy my mind hasn't had to go there and fret over who is reading or lisiting or not. I've been too self-involved of course, heart attack has changed me somewhat, but thank God for love and Kabu, and friends like you

I do read when I can. An appropriate comment sometimes evades me! I get less responses than I give out, so welcome to my world!

Hello dearest!
I've been away for so long.  Just so you know, you're the first read of my return.

It's the ebb and flow of life, moon cycles, the winds of change...
Subtle dark matter that may or not impact gravity among and between stars, planets, asteroids. You are a child of the universe. That's all I could come up with. Or else maybe I said some last straw thing that made someone realize I was just too innocuous and boring to bother with.

azur, I think that I made my list about eighteen years ago.

I think that being on my list is probably a curse anyway, as most of those there have disappeared and I feel no need to go through that exercise again, picking people for the list. So, I leave it.

I never notice that I am on a list or not, until you mentioned it and then I purposely looked at your list.

Egos are a funny thing to stroke or poke. I think that I usually just write to write and sometimes I write for you or majroj or the padre, but I don't really visualize my readers.

I visualize my writing progression, my spelling, my paragraphs and my silly need to Emphasize things periodically. That part is really bad this week, I'm all over, coloring my words and can't stop the madness.

I read the strangest things here on Blogit and follow friends and peek into strangers' post and wander around listening to conversations and watching people's faces and taking notes. I rarely comment on anyone's posts unless it's a friend's as I fear the R word, rejection.

Otherwise, thanks for writing about those inner things that many think and few post.

About those lists I gave up on mine ages ago. People come and go
and my friends like yourself know we enjoy reading each others work so as I limit my time on blogit around other aspects of my life and my writing, lists are a low priority for me. as is what number I am or even how much money I have made lately.

Funny! I was just thinking about those lists....
...although I've never even looked at how to use them.  My eyebrow (the right one) rose a bit when I saw me on your list...I hadn't ever noticed that!  Nice to be included!   I too wonder why people read or don't read my blogs but I don't obsess over it either.  I just sit back and enjoy it here...it's a good place to be.  I've only once been involved with a blogger who didn't appreciate my comments so I guess that's not too bad in the many (many) years I've been here.  I'm just glad to still see you here Azur!

I never use people lists for the very reason that I'd end up excluding
someone by accident or hurt someone's feelings.  As for the people who don't comment on you... hmmm... don't know about that one.

Re:
Hi Purple, oh yes I agree everything is everyone's perogative. I am not offended to be dropped from someone's list. Of course if it was someone very close in my life I would feel that greatly.

And regarding the people to whom i frequently comment and who never comment to me, in the couple of cases i am thinking of I am, they are simply people whose views I would be very interested in. But it doesn't matter. I enjoy it all.

It is just fascinating to observe these subtle shifts. I think people decide on who their people are based on greatly varying criterias. It is very difficult to determine to set out in words what my criteria is. As I get older I am more understanding of the differences between people. Though, of course I will not suffer fools gladly myself ;-).

Azur
I never pay attention to those lists for some reason (but believe me there are other aspects of this site I obsess about). There are people I like and others I don't particularly care for, those I read frequently (with or without commenting) and those I avoid, but advertising who falls in which category is a bit crass to say the least.

Smittenheimer, I had to smile at this.

Thank you for pausing to comment.

i understand your sentiment my dear...I have deleted my own lists of people for some personal reasons I prefer not to elaborate anymore dear. But it happens really, I read countless blogs on and on to this date and half of them i never heard from. But i just went on reading specially those i have come to admire the works, doesnt matter if they read me back or not anymore. It'll be frustrating dear if we'd always hope they will. But dropping someone you dont believe in anymore is everyone's prerogative such as yours dear. Hope you feel better soon.

Azur
Your article intrigues me and yet gives pause to attempt to answer your question from my own unique perspective.  I believe that what I heard you say was you sometimes wonder why people dont reply to your very articulate and well stated postings.  My guess is that in some cases they may be overwhelmed by your intelligence when they would like to be swept away by your skills and sense of humor.  I don't know what other people do on these blogs as I am new here, but I come here to entertain my virtual fans.  In that spirit let us all create new material to revitalize the masses.  Best wishes
