I cannot remember the last time
I was bored. I enjoy my periods of inactitivy very much and treat them as well needed rest times.

I totally agree with you Taps in that boredom is self made and self fixed... only boring people get bored ...that is what my Mom used to say, and I don't remember ever being bored. Like you said, there is always something to do and if there isn't one can invent something . I too wonder why someone would stay in here if they are bored with it... The internet is so huge...so many things to do and see and try out... oh well... great post !

Ah yes, the mess ~ and I, like you always have found 'something' to do...always hope to be this way, truly Taps. I see many and I feel sad for them - that say, "(with a sigh) I'm bored" ----

--- I can't imagine. Write on!!~ Glad you had a great weekend 'sounds like ~

Re:
I really dont recall my childhood, but I never felt like I lived up to my parents expectations as I was never bright like my brother and I married a man they didnt like, which isnt that different. I have never felt like i fit in with any group. But I seem to be always busy at my house I just dont leave it that much except to go to work, I dont socialize with anyone.

Boredom is generally not a concept I deal w/ on a regular basis. In fact, I'd LIKE to have a little more free time on my hands!!!

Gee, I guess I'm in the minority. I get bored easily and often. I even bore
myself, as I told Mr. Ariala today. LOL I asked him if I bore him and he said, "No." Then he asked me and I said, "Yes." LOL He then said, "Everyone bores you." I had to agree. hahahaha

Boredom? I'm searching my mind, and I really think that boredom is an almost entirely unfamiliar experience for me. I say 'almost', because I have sometimes encountered people who (not by design, I'm sure) would bore me if I allowed them to do so, but I won't...And I have never, ever been bored when I was by myself...

TAPS.
My mind is my playpen. There's always something odd and/or abstract bouncing around inside my skull that forever shields me from boredom. Or course it also makes it sometimes extremely difficult to focus on those tedious little things that take up so much of my time.

Fear of boredom
is as bad as boredom--when it leads to crazy solutions... No, I have no specific stories in mind... nothing at all, not a one...

Well some of the articles i write are about dry topics. But then the interest is in finding the interest, and conveying that. I love that after the party feeling too. My house looks like 'after the party' very often. It's just the look of living

Just curious, lustorlove. As a child, did you expect to be entertained by others, or did you learn to entertain yourself? As adults, humans pretty much hold on to the values they learn as children.

I guess I have a different out look on life, I am bored most the time, as I have stuck myself in this corner of the world and that is where I mainly stay, and company is a foreign word to me, I never entertain, except for my 3 kids

Sam, my sons would have just loved your 20 acres. Every opportunity, we took them to the wide open spaces or the woods, the mountains, the coast, the plains, the wetlands, and turned them loose to explore. What fun. I feel a sadness for city-bound children.

I did not hear bored from my kids either because there was always the corral to clean. I loved reading that is what you did as well. My children were fortunate to grow up on 20 acres with a creek running through it! I had a school bell to summon them. It was hard to get them in for a meal, too much noshing because they were on the go. Now they work and if there are two days in a row off, they are looking for ways to pack in the fun. So if one is bored get up and do something fun! Great write Taps. sam

NiteTide, I hope that your question is rhetorical, as the "Who?" is immaterial to the point in question; and those bored persons being lambasted by irate bloggers would not help that situation at all, but would only create further problems.

Back in thundering herd days when I had to get up at five a.m. to
get five minutes to myself to enjoy a cup of coffee, I prayed for boredom. I even wished to be ninety years old so I could sit down peacefully and read without having to ignore an endless list of chores and errands. And like yours Taps, my kids learned to find things to do, because the punishment for boredom was -- well, you know. Good job. :)
