here's the NYT article referenced: CLICK TO READ - still there's more ice melting than is being replaced by snowfall.

I think you've missed something here.
The report I discuss at
http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/WriterofLight9282/554739 evidently refutes, or at least calls into question, what you present here. It is certainly more recent, implying that the research is more current. Any comments from having compared -
honestly and fairly -the two?
