Feenix, If you want the up-to-date low down on clothes to make you "the man about town" in L.A., you should read Nat Thomson on Fashions. He writes and does interviews for Fashion Magazine. He is my cutie 27 year old nephew who has his base in New York and travels where the fashions are. One of his latest spreads is

I hope it works out for you. I had a friend move to sunny California
only to move back 2 yrs later, very disappointed... once you've lived in NY, well, it's hard to go back.

didn't know dressing in black was a NY thing
my boys like to dress in black when they do dress up - most of the time they wear casual clothes. Lately they have had a thing for plaid shorts.
