Ah Pat! You've definitely got me in a wondering mood this bright Sunday. Perhaps it's because I was in the States yesterday at our second oldest granddaughter's graduation. She's been accepted at a US military college and wants to be an interpreter. Patterns sometimes take long loops and curls before they return.

I'm still dying of laughter about the penguin kidnapping
You'll have to keep us posted on how this ordeal pans out, and let us know if the poor penguin makes it through unscathed!

Dayum ... I had to stop and stare at this before I could even read the
rest. Unbelievable ... what stories they must have to tell. Awesome post...

Family patterns are so nice to observe unless it is in Ma Barker's family, or some such.

I love to reminisce as well with fond family members. I live near Oregon and have been thinking of moving there. It is such a beautiful state. sam

Re: Amy's Penguin Caper
I thought I'd told everyone about this, but no-oo. After the giraffe in the shower incident I went down to clean up the mess from some projects. As the clutter became organized I realized one of my papier mache penguins was missing. Amy! She'd been down there showing her uncle the avatar she's sculpting. I remember she actually turned off the lights for once before she came upstairs. And she flashed me this big smile as she left, her backpack over her shoulder...
A few days later during an exchange of text messages between Amy and her dad when he came over to bring a new kitchen faucet - to be installed one of these soon days - she said "we're holding it for ransom." But so far they haven't made a demand, so negotiations are stalled.

It's fun and interesting to have family history intertwined with world history, although Amy's penguin caper escapes me...a hostage escaped?
