I would go with Cherie's method of retribution Pat. That was when I instinctively crossed my legs and winced. Oddly enough, I had a dream last night of killing someone with a thousand cuts; the dream consisted of figuring out how to do it without cutting myself and how to keep the victim motionless so that they wouldn't know they were in a cocoon of razors until they woke up - and there isn't a perv along this street....that I know of.

Re: WileyJohn
I applaud you, John, and am sorry that it damaged your relationship with your sons. I personally think you did the right thing, and whoever prevented you from explaining yourself to your children was wrong. Kids need to know that such pervsion exists, or they won't know how to protect themselves. And it is soooo pervasive....I've been confronted by at least seven in my own lifetime....Unfortunately all when I was too young and too small to cause much damage. I got real good at memorizing license plate numbers, though. :)

This is just a brilliant piece! And indeed with subtleties below the surface one could write about at length - but you are probably aware of them...

Pat, OMG This is brilliant
You horrified me with this writing. It's so good I felt myself there sitting on a porch swinging away in a squeaky old swing and smiling towards a neighbor across the street, thinking what a nice family lives there!!!!!!

This is so well written, I think I have to get away and watch TV to get my mind off it.
My ex FIL was a molester/abuser and that's the second time in my life when I nearly went away for a long time after I worked him over.
Strange, I lost the relationship with my 2 sons because I nearly killed their maternal grandfather and couldn't explain the why of it to them. I just made sure that dickhead knew what would happen to him if something happened to my children.
You did a superb job of writing about such emotional filth my friend.

Pat_B, only you could tell that old, old story in such a way. There have always been pervs and there have always been innocents whose innocence has been destroyed, and there have always been parents who lust for justice, for revenge. But you brought it alive and personal in a quiet and peaceful community, on a day in June 2008.

Just so you know, I wrote this only a few minutes before posting it.
It's probably going to be edited some, but I think the story's pretty much told.

OH, this is sweet!
Masterful! I love how you brought the husband and wife together, thinking the same thing, neither one feeling they could tell the other. My spouse knows full well what would happen if anyone threatened our kids, and agrees that it would be worth the cost. Not just revenge, but
prevention.... We have a duty to protect our children, no?
