 You can only do so much after that, the only solution is to walk away.

 And you shouldn't feel bad about it.  You did what you had to do.

Indifference when its an acquaintance involved but if it's a friend...
then a face off is absolutely necessary for me as they should know me better and if they don't then that tells me a lot; good post Ariala; thank you and God bless

I go indifferent ariala after the telling off shows no effect. I dont avoid confrontatıon, but when I see that my word fall on deaf ears I shrug it off, walk away and forget about that person.

I have gone from allowing someone to push my buttons, which they
were all too familiar with, to wanting to confront the (and doing so), to complete and utter indifference.  I'd rather talk about it and get it out than to build resentment ... if I care about the person, otherwise I take it one situation at a time.
