TAPS, may I also include all the posts that are posted and then later on deleted because of some circumstance.  I'm afraid I've done this on many occasions....   But your words speak true!!!  I've loved poetry my entire life, and it's an enjoyable disease that I would never want to be cured from!

I must say I thought this was so. I like to write and read a mixture
Like I read good poetry and write pretty awful stuff. LOL

Taps
It is quite something how poetry has kind of taken over.  I remember a time when I was one of only a few who posted poetry daily.

I had noticed that, but never bothered with doing the kind of neat, quantitative research needed to confirm my impression! Anyway, this development is very interesting, I wonder why it happened! Particularly since writing poetry is hard work, for me at least, and I only write really short poetry, occasionally...

TAPS, I'm not really a "poemy" person..
but I do read some of them, and enjoy.

Sam, I really like the change from what it was in 2004.

It won't let you go either, the pursuit of the perfect poem is endless. Such a trek though!  sam

And, justi, some of my favorite poets have moved on to other things.   But, more just keep joining.

Excellent post. I have been wondering about this. I remember back in those days. Today we have some good poets, really good poets too.
